giving: stewardship pledge campaign for FY2015-16
Old Ship needs your financial support to continue to be the place that we care for and that cares for us. Consider the value you place on all that Old Ship offers - inspirational sermons, thought provoking classes, an excellent religious education program for our children, caring, connection & camaraderie. Keep in mind the various worthy causes we support with a portion of our Sunday offering that goes where help is needed most--whether to a local shelter or in response to a global emergency.
Additionally, our annual fundraisers such as Merrie Market & May Breakfast are a great way to support Old Ship. Lastly, consider contributing to the various causes we champion. Our members bring to our collective attention many worthy causes that might not make the local news. Please give thought to where you can commit and make a difference.
Three quarters of our operating budget comes from annual pledges - and three quarters of our expenses pay our incredible staff. Annual pledging is that important.
If you prefer, you can fulfill your pledge via credit card or electronic debit from your bank account. You can even request installments to automatically paid on a weekly, semimonthly or monthly basis. To sign up, complete this authorization form and return it to Julianna in the office.

Legacy Giving: Bridging Generations
This program expands the opportunities to leave funds for future needs of the congregation, to grow the endowment. Our endowment funds testify to the faith of those who have preceded us, and their hope and belief that a liberal religious tradition would have a continuing presence in our community. Our three segregated endowment funds help to maintain our historic buildings, to support our social outreach programs, and to provide some of our operating expenses including salaries for our minister and staff. These funds provide a safety net for our religious community and, by leaving a bequest, we allow future generations a foundation on which to build a better world-as our forbears did for us.
If you are thinking of including Old Ship in your will/estate plan, we would like to know so that we may thank you and keep a record of your future bequest. Gifts of any size are appreciated. Our Legacy Honor Society is for folks who have plans (or will make plans) to leave a bequest (of any size), and wish that to be known. Others may wish their intentions to be less public.
Our minister, Ken Read-Brown, or any of our Legacy Gift Leaders can answer questions.
Legacy Gift Leaders: Elaine Gomez, John LaPann, Ron Pollara, Tom Willson
