Meeting House joins Bells Across America on Wednesday, September 17th at 4:00 P.M.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 4:00 pm, Old Ship Meeting House is planning to join institutions across America to show support for the United States Constitution by ringing our bell continuously for one minute. The national Daughters of the American Revolution is recognizing this magnificent document by asking us “to continue the tradition of ringing bells to announce the presentation of significant information. The ringing bells on September 17, 1787 made known to the world that the delegates to the Constitutional Convention had reached an agreement and a constitution for our new Nation had been established.” Please join us at 3:45 and take your turn at ringing the Old Ship bell – the same one that was in place on that momentous day in 1787.
