A National Historic Landmark recognized for its exceptional value in interpreting the heritage of the United States, the Old Ship Meeting House has become a favorite landmark for visitors tracing family roots or the highlights of American history.
The Meeting House is open for worship services every Sunday morning from September through June; visitors are welcome. Or, contact the First Parish Office Administrator to arrange a visit or a tour at another time (781-749-1679). Two days notice is requested.
During the summer from Fourth of July until Labor Day, the Meeting House is open to visitors from 1:00 - 4:00 pm weekdays and on occasional Saturdays, with volunteer tour guides on site.
From September through June, tours are by appointment only. Please call the office in advance with a minimum of two days notice if at all possible. We have volunteer tour guides who are happy to come and give a tour. Old Ship is open on Sunday mornings for worship and anyone is welcome to come early (9am-10am) to view the inside of the building.
