2024 - 2025 Stewardship Campaign
Old Ship relies on contributions from our members and friends to cover the annual operating expenses that support the work of our church. We ask each member to make a pledge of support - in whatever amount you are able to give.
Three quarters of our operating budget's income comes from annual pledges - and three quarters of our expenses go to pay our wonderful staff. Annual pledging is that important. To learn more about UU pledging in general, watch this short video clip from Unitarian Universalist Congregation - Eau Claire, WI. How do you make a pledge? Think about what Old Ship means to you, and try to offer financial support consistent with your commitment to the Old Ship community and our shared values. We understand that circumstances can change; you may revise your pledge at any time.
How do you make payments on a pledge? Old Ship's Fiscal Year runs from July 1 to June 30. We ask you to fulfill your pledge during that time. We try to make it easy for you, with lots of options:

This program expands the opportunities to leave funds for future needs of the congregation, to grow the endowment. Our endowment funds testify to the faith of those who have preceded us, and their hope and belief that a liberal religious tradition would have a continuing presence in our community. Our three segregated endowment funds help to maintain our historic buildings, to support our social outreach programs, and to provide some of our operating expenses including salaries for our minister and staff. These funds provide a safety net for our religious community and, by leaving a bequest, we allow future generations a foundation on which to build a better world-as our forbears did for us. If you are thinking of including Old Ship in your will/estate plan, we would like to know so that we may thank you and keep a record of your future bequest. Gifts of any size are appreciated. Our Legacy Honor Society is for folks who have plans (or will make plans) to leave a bequest (of any size), and wish that to be known. Others may wish their intentions to be less public. Any of our Legacy Gift Leaders, can answer questions. Legacy Gift Leaders: Trish McAleer, Jack Gomez Click here for the brochure. |
