Rentals at Old Ship Church
The Old Ship Meeting House may be used for weddings, lectures, concerts or other occasions by residents of Hingham, and by others, subject to the availability of the building and the approval of the minister of Old Ship. Requests for use should be made through the Office Adminstator.
Rev. Kenneth Read-Brown, our minister, officiates or co-officiates at weddings or memorial services for nonmembers as well as members of Old Ship. If he is not available, we will refer you to other members of the Unitarian Universalist clergy. If you would like to make other arrangements, we ask that you speak first with Rev. Read-Brown.
The Meeting House is open to be seen by anyone on Sunday mornings during the school year, from 9:30 to 11:30. Our Sunday services are at 10:30. The Parish House is open for inspection weekday and Sunday mornings should you wish to see it. Both buildings are completely handicapped accessible. Please call our office if you have any questions. We will do all we can to make your wedding a joyous occasion!
Any music for the service should be arranged well in advance with our organist and Music Director. Should you wish to use other musicians, you are strongly advised to confer with the organist and her fee will be required. Soloists and other special music requests may require increased or additional fees.
A rehearsal is necessary for weddings and should be arranged with the
Office Administrator, (781-749-1679) and coordinated with the minister and the organist.
